Default Intense French battle in Afghanistan

Saw this video of the French Marines getting into a pretty intense firefight with the Taliban on liveleak and thought I would share:
LiveLeak.com - The battle for Afghania valley [eng]
We get to see some cool french hardware in this vid {hopefully some stuff we will be using in PR soon } FrF2s, camo famas, rifle grenades, tiger helicopters etc.
After seeing a video like this I hope it helps more people realize that the stereotype of the French military being a bunch of quitters is just that, a stereotype.

known in-game as BOOMSNAPP

Hey, thanks.

(An another battle of the french army and ANA in Astan. Battle of Alasay - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

France have a great military history, and some epic fail.

You're right.
It's a AA 52 machine gun, also called ANF1 (you can see this weapon modelled in this section).
But infantery doesn't use it so much now, it is being replaced by the MINIMI PARA (also visible in this video with a HUUUGGE scope...)
You can see in this video most of the weapons and vehicles which will be used in our Astan maps : VAB, ANF1 (mounted on vehicles), FA-MAS F1 with different scopes, Rifle Grenades, FrF2, Tigers...

You can see also during the video a sort of mortar, it's the LGI (Lance-grenade Individuel) commonly used by our forces instead of a M203 fixed on a rifle or rifle grenades.

French army have only woodland camo, not enough money for desert ones. But we can see in the vid that the camo is not that bad for that environment.
And yes, that reporter has a really boring voice...

Because this one works well as you can see! (and because with haven't enough desert camo, it's too expensive... )

We use AA52 in heavy patrol because that MG use 7.62, but the MG used in section is Minimi, the AA 52 is more lethal but older and the difficulty of using higher !

Thank you for sharing the video with us.

The narration is simple and short, good translations and excellent quality to top it all of.

Very interesting video.

I read somewhere that the French still used rifle grenades (rifle mortar?) but I didn't believe it until I saw them connected to the end of the FAMAS. There was also footage there of one being launched but only one, after that it was conventional small mortar.
