As for the UHT being superior to the other Tiger versions. That I don't know... I guess each one is the best for the role they were ment to.

A little pic to help :

AFAIK :

-HAP was the first ordered variant by the French ALAT (Army Air Force), it 's meant to support ground troops with high-precision 30mm gun, 68mm rockets and Mistral AA missiles for self-defense (and to replace the old Gazelle Mistral variant).

-UHT is the German variant, with no main gun, a mast-mounted sight, it's a tank-buster for sure (but has a versatile weapon loadout).

-ARH (Australia) has an upgraded engine and fires the Hellfire II.

-HAD is basically a slightly better ARH, selected by Spain and France (40 HAD + 40 HAP), with air-to-ground support role.

The Tiger won't be able in PR to get AA missiles + antitank missiles + rockets, like other helicopters do currently ingame. But I think its manoeuvrability, its size and with an appropriate use, the Tiger would be an awesome chopper, despite its small loadout and weak armor.

But it'll be a bitch to code !

I've already posted this picture, one or two pages before, but it doesn't matter...

Good luck with getting the French presumably HAD type copter completed for your community mod. Presuming you will use the Luftwaffe or maybe the Australian PR community one with a French texture on it.

As it's been announced the French will be deploying 3 to Afghanistan in the summer (not sure on date or whether they are in theatre yet), i'm looking forward to seeing the French copter in action.

(Stolen translation)
The French MoD announced today that, this summer, three Tiger combat helicopters would be sent to Astan. It's the first time these machines are deployed.

Actually we will use the EuroForces model which is commonly used by the three factions. ADF and FF Tiger are almost the same choppers (some differences with the weapons), the German one has no 30mm gun, and its camera is installed differently, on top of the rotor for the German one, in front of the rotor for ADF and FF one.

Looking at the EF Tiger with the help of 1.5 patch coming , I think it's rather a good chopper, not totally up to PR standards, but well...
Only weapons are a bit shitty, look at their hellfire missiles...pff nothing to do with PR Hellfires. Maybe only the French missiles (SNEB) are a bit realistic but well...

As you have well guessed, we will certainly use the HAD version, the better equivalent of PR heavy attack choppers.

I believe that we can modify weapons on DICE models...we could use Hellfire missiles of US copters and also their Stinger and Hydra maybe.
