I've been away for a few days in the bush and now back and working on this map. I've only been working on the eastern side, changing its layout with the movement of the village south, steep and wild terrain and the addition of a tunnel(tunnel is ripped from OGT, tonnie will be making a replacement soon) which leads to a bridge. If I can get your thoughts on this revised layout i'd be grateful.

hummm, to start off with, the tunnel dont make much seance... Tunnels are only made in places where they are worth making as a lot of stuff is going to be running though them and the time saved by going though the hill instead of over it will pay it self back in the long run, but your road just looks to be leading to a small village with not much else? You only really find road tunnels in cities or motorways etc anyways? So ye the tunnel is not working for me.

Now to the SW of the tunnel, bridge going over the river then back again? can't see much reason for it unless its to avoid the hills but bridges aint easy to make and ehh, think the players will just go over the hills? Really need a river going SE in-between thous bridges as I put on my drawing before in this topic, to make crossing thous bridges worth it?

Other than that looks ok so far

In my head, i've invisioned this road as a main road. The reasoning with the road winding across the river is that the terrain is now high and steep, which would be impassable for a main road. China seems to be into building roads correctly, is in building them to a high quality. Now I don't know about the rest of the world but here in Australia our governments love to build bodgy roads which will need re-alignment and upgrades later down the track.

Totally disagree there rhino... Some countries are chock full of low, small tunnels... despite conventional british thinking they are extremely common in steep asian countries for getting past a very thin wide but steep rock outcroppings and minor steep mountains...

Additionally.. due to the over steepness of the terrain they often cross a river and cross back.. I know it seems nuts from a modern standpoint but I think in alot of cases it was actually easier to build bridges rather than try to tunnel through solid rock.. especailly the case when a road is following a steep river.. might cross the river 6-7 times in a very short distance...

And even leading to a small village...their would likely be an access tunnel if required...Japanese and Chinese have been building tunnels for A LONG TIME.. and are very good at it as I understand...

Well I'm not too sure on other countries really just going from what I know is common in the UK and places I've seen.

In California there are tons of tunnels for 2 lane highways in the coastal mountains. I don't see any problem with the tunnel as long as you make the terrain south of it a longer cliff so its obvious why the tunnel and bridge were made.

some nice bottle necks too, i think you are really taking some of those early suggestions on well, and improving them, the tunnel is a great example.
can you explain what the pearl estate is though, thanks.
