Yea good luck on it but take your time, dont try to rush it, no one wants a map that dosent work. Hopefully you can get it in the game with in the next few releases. Also try and cut down some of the assets, like half of everything, you said its all about teamwork, so make everyone work together, so dont put 8 tanks a bunch of doom buggies, choppers, apcs, and quads for it just to get abandoned. Good Luck!

I think you've got quite a concept. I'll try to give some advice too. If you're making maps, don't get into the error of placing an industrial complex here, a village there, a forest the other place. You should make the areas of interest blend in the surroundings, and you don't need all the possible features if they aren't going to help.

Very good looking still Oh and I want to encourage implementation of an artillery system on such maps. It would make life for spotters a hell of a lot more useful. Though it wouldn't surprise me if you were working on it right now.

Scaling up a map?

I was wondering if it would be possible to 'scale-up' a map?
After al the wise words from you and other mappers, it would be smart to start with smart map indeed. So my question is: is it possible to make the main US base first (maybe like event/tournament map first) and after that is done and I've learned the skills place that base in the actual 4km map??

I am not familiar with the BF2 editor (yet) so I don't know if its as simple 'copy + paste' or maybe making the base one big static or something?

...i suggest you do not care about those questions, grap a 1 x1 km map or 2x2 km and just start!!!

also doing a mainbase is very easy ..for me

if you want to make a open desert map, than start with a small mountain map, that way you get to used to the terrian tools
