Yea, but the terrain would morph so badly, that you'd need statics if you ever wanted to have uneven ground. I also think that there were some other problems, but I can't remember them all.

There are some other major problems with them IIRC, bad ground textures and stuff like that, though Rhino would know more. You'd have to wait till he's back to ask him
As for the current map, I say try your hand at whatever's interesting you, though as others have mentioned, the bigger the map, the harder, in a bigger sense that just "more stuff". |

As people have suggested, this will be an absolute MISSION expecially considering its your first map. You gotta bare in mind that it'll probably take 1 - 2 years to get it done, depending how much free time you've got going. There's a lot to learn and you might be better to start off learning a few things first on a smaller size map. But hey, if you're determined, and I mean like full-on there's nothing in the world that's gonna get in your way of getting this done and learning as you go then I say go for it. Just don't expect it to happen overnight. I like some of your concept ideas, you just gotta put the time in and get it done. Its one thing having great ideas, its another thing entirely realising them. Put up some screens when you consider you have made some real progress with it. As far as the terrain morphing goes, just make sure you don't do anything too details in terms of the terrain, i.e. if you're gonna make a hill make it thick, and think of ways to hide some of the morphing. Had loads of *fun* doing all that with Sangin...
Good luck! I look forward to seeing some screens in a few months time, it'd be no major bad at all if you let this one go or start with a smaller map first though. Up to you though |

As ima mapper myself(not for bf2)i have to say that this is way to ambitous,since afaik you have no experience,you havent showed us any pics of the maps itself(have you actually started this yet)promo stuff wont do it,ppl want raw ingame screenshots smashed right into their face,also the list of vehicles,some of em arent ingame(paladin),have no plans to be ever put ingame(paladin,DPV isnt used in PR) and what about the MeC,what vehicles will they get?
and as a last point,cut down on the vehicles,unless a miracle happens you wont get enough players in a server to balance out the Air Vehicle/Land Vehicle/Infantry ratio on this map |

My friend if its anything like that video, it will be nothing short of epic, just don't put too many assets in or people will be forced to one man tanks

I think you should rather concentrate on mapping than on creating all these promos.

scale 4 and 8 maps also suffer a shadow but, that gets worse with the size
