Well I think the oilfields flag should be much bigger still (ie 1km radius), making it a fight for the whole section of the map. It would be nice if the view distance was lower here that the rest of the map, but all the oil wells will probably be plenty of cover.

And I still dont like the idea of having multiple large-ish bases so close to each other. The town would make a better main IMO. Be careful with the Ejod-effect of the hills either way.

Delete the asset list from the OP too, that will be the last thing done and will be decided by testing.

How much time did it take you to make the video?
Do you think you could have spent that time actually learning how to make this project work?

Things are not gonna finish themselves up on their own.

Don't take offense, but as mentioned before, stop wasting time promoting this idea with videos or PDF files and start working on the map. At least get the terrain done and some statics located.

I am in full agreement with PanzerFire here. You can make awesome promos when you have actually done some work on the map. To be honest, this very nice video is a huge waste of time. You have simply restated everything in the video. It may not seem like it, but I am trying to be constructive. Don't spend your time on these promos, spend your time on the map!

I don't know anything about editing/mapping, but theres so many features that i wanna add to PR myself, that i may actually start editing small stuff, then gradually getting large to Vehicles and Maps....

What the hell are you doing?

You dont promote an idea, you promote the finished product.

If you want any kind of praise then I suggest you show us progress on the map, not some fancy images that wont actually be on the map in any way. ie, post a heightfield, fly-through tour, screenshots, interesting parts of the terrain as a grid (DONT go overboard here or it screws things up a LOT more than you would imagine).

I skimmed through the vid, and its not clear that you have actually got the terrain started properly yet unless I missed something.

Have you considered skinning rather than mapping?

It doesn't really work like that. You'll find that you receive very little support until the map is almost complete. The main reason for this really, is that the majority of people give up when they come realise what is involved. Theres very few experienced people about to help you, and those that are, tend to be working on their own projects.

So basically get started and do one bit at a time. If your committed enough to the idea then it will all work out

Its not impossible to do it yourself, but it does take alot of work, and a serious amount of time. I think I spent well over 100 hours working on my map before I even placed the first static.
