Yes, they would set up bases all over, but its a desert. Building them as close as you had them just doesn't seem right at all.

How about making the central flag an oasis then?

The more variation in the areas to attack the better, IMO.

Well, US base is gone now as I said, I shrunk the Warehouse and removed the containers but I'm keeping the FOB, because I want the gameplay to be centered around it, once Refinery/East Storage are captured, it's pretty much over.

I could add the oasis around the FOB and you could say, that the FOB was built there to protect the only source of water in the area..?
And an oasis could sort of help in defense of the FOB since trees would block the view.

That could work out OK, but be careful that the fortified hills dont stop it feeling like a desert.

You dont want this map to feel like one huge military base in a heavily populated area.

This map reminds me of a Desert Combat Realism map, I forgot the name of it but it is very similar, it had a city in the middle and some oil pumps all over the map. BTW, looks really amazing! Can't wait.
