Yes you are right, you have been bitching in my ear about this for months mate ..... but as I am sure your wife has done, I went and bought some very good ear plugs for just such occasions

Just a quick shot -- sorry for the quality. Really illustrates the usefulness of the Aimpoint on the AK.

I don't really like the look of the aimpoint on the AK. It looks weird. I like the look of the EKP 1S-03 red dot.

I can post more pics of it for references if you would like.

I'm sorry that you don't like the aesthetics of the Aimpoint. Yes we're aware of the Kobra (I have one not three feet from me.), though it would not be an option for our current AK models, as they do not have a dovetail mount on them.

Really good job on the models/skins, just a couple of points I thought about mentioning, see what you think.

As you can see above, the bright white highlight is a small spot just offset from the middle of the ball. Dont highlight the edge bright white, but some dodging there could bring up the ambient reflections.

pistol looks very well done, good base texture, and colours look good as well! Good job.

Quote:
I did a USP texture for the luls almost a year back.

The issue with having black items in game is that sometimes it can look like a giant black blob on the screen as it's so dark. i would suggest maybe creating a shade lighter for when it's ingame, as it should bring out the detail in a very nice way As you can see, the one I did was brighter so it shows the base texture a bit better. if your goign to spend ages making the texture look good, you need to show it off! Don't hide it in pitch black!

They look badass. For future reference, don't highlight the AK handle ALL the way around. maybe do half of it on 30%, then the back can be done on 18% to represent ambient reflections, but also giving a good idea of where the lightsource is.

I like this a lot, but do have one suggestion:

Digital camo is the new style for summer, and it's hitting PMC a lot, as it so easy to do well (cut out some box shaped templates from a cereal box, and get out the spraycan.

You could make some brushes by using the block/pencil tool in PS, save it as a brush. Create a new layer, paint it over your model, desaturate the layer, then put it as an overlay over your camo scheme, and voilla, your done!

Quote:
Would also suggest you use digital camo on this bad boy too, as it looks good.

These look really good. The M4 could do with having it's model slightly lightened so it isn't black. And the highlights on the silencer and part of the barrel are too bright. looks a bit chrome like. Other than that, very good job!

Hope that helps a bit, just some constructive criticism to help you out if you need any help or have some questions feel free to bug me by sending me a Pm.

painting highlights on a texture is always a very bad idea

For highly advanced shaders yes.. but with the way shaders are calibrated in BF2 you WILL need to at have some general lighting established in the colour map.

I've never seen a weapon with rails painted like that in the last two pictures. You might want to make them black and add tan rail covers. Would look far better.
