[Proposal] Colombian FARC Faction and Missions

Im thinking aswell as our PMC guys fighing Taliban and Insurgents they could also go against the FARC (Colombian Rebels) in South America, it would be a good opportunity for mappers to map something different like jungle enviroments.

You do understand that there is a line between a Private Security Contractor and a Mercenary? The PSC faction will not be 'fighting against' anyone, simply protecting vital assets.

That aside, I'd love to see maps based in the Western hemisphere.

I guess your right about that whole issue of PMCs fighting and protecting, but dont the US goverment hire contractors like these to take action in the more 'sensative areas'. but hey dont listen to me what to i know about PMCs.....very little. I just saying it would be nice to see a change of scene. Like jungles or Mexico or other hotspots in Europe, like a country like Bosnia.

I think Mexico is quite a good idea, and so is a Bosnia or Bosniaish map.
Mexico - After seeing the recent violence in mexico on the news. I made a fake storyline.
"Private Military Contractors have be hired by the US goverment to take action agaisnt the drug and arms smuggling across the US border. The violence has escolated and the drug cartels are now basically a unconvetional army. The PMCs must seize and destroy statigic objectives which are necisary for the drug cartels."

Bosnia - Still thinking about this one.....you gotta help me on this one, i dont know as much about this...

I remember if you look up PMCs on wiki, there were in Bosnia.

In 1999, an incident involving DynCorp in Bosnia was followed by a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) lawsuit was filed against DynCorp employees stationed in Bosnia, which alleged that: "employees and supervisors from DynCorp were engaging in perverse, illegal and inhumane behavior and were illegally purchasing women, weapons, forged passports and participating in other immoral acts."

Doesn't say the best things about them but, its not like our PSC is going to be DynCorp or Blackwater. Not sure what they were doing in Bosnia though.

It isn't easy to make a faction. It takes time. There is another force currently making African insurgents I think. there was some thread about this but dont remember.

But that aside, we're talking about a possibly worldwide PSC here, so what would stop the Colombian government, the Chinese, the Russians, ANY government really, from hiring them to protect compounds, convoys, officials, etc.?

As far as I am concerned this PSC faction could be on any map ..... as long as the above was the focus of the gameplay.

Im just saying this could be a chance to have a change of scene, in PR.
Cuz we have about 10 community Afghanistan maps being made (Similar to Sangin)
The PMC should use thier "anywhere in the world" advantage to be an excuse to make make of something different.
People would enjoy playing the PMCs more if they have good maps. think why Fallujah is so popular, its a new map and it is not repetative. If we introduce a whole new enviroment to PR people are goint to want to play the Factions that are on it.

All we need to do now is think up some suitible areas where PMCs would be used and what they are doing in those areas.
