Probably see if the DEVs would allow you to borrow the files for the Extraction mode, rename it something like Escort or Protection to promote flexibility of the gamemode, and add in extra ways to play the mode.
Ideas: -Regular Player/Vehicle extraction -Player/Vehicle escort to location (ie: To a safehouse which is located outside of a nearby/on the route city occupied by opfor) -Protection of a vital static "asset" (ie: a base of AA, artillery emplacements, airbase, etc) Tomorrow I'll look into skinning/texturing tutorials and whatnot to get a basis (already familiar with graphic design), see if we can't snazz up that X-Tract SUV. I'll see what I can pull off with photoshop expertise. |

Make the skins, cars, trucks, and helicopters.Then write up how this will all work plus weapon load-out. Then temp add everything into the game (anyone can temp it in). Then come asking the team

I'm sure you'll get more CON's interested/available after .8 gets released. Til then, just plan, learn, and try to do what you can.
Tonnie and Celestial just offered their help, and I know for a fact there are ALWAYS modellers looking for new projects to model for and support. And if you can build this up as a means to allow smaller goal based PR rounds, I think it'll really gain some attention. |

Some Idea for the names (maybe you dont need them?) Blackstone, Riverwood (copy of a Merc group "Ravenwood" from one of my fav TV shows) Just making up ideas

I'm just calling them PMC. I got a new logo as well. I made the old BW symbol more circular and less ovular, then I replaced the red outside with a black outside (and modified rings) and a forest green paw.
I copied Gulf of Oman in Vanilla and that will be the map I'm testing all this stuff out on to begin. So far I've got some graphics done, cloned soldier models, a really temp skin and that's about it. I tried loading the map up to see if anything worked, but it crashed. I'll try running it windowed tommorrow and debugging, right now I'm seriously tired. |

My advice: Leave the name undecided for as long as possible, in the end youll have a clearer idea of what name you want, or you can just leave it generic "PMC" or something. Anythings better than rushing into a name though, trust me... as a member of the loose PR clan ASF: "Arcane Shock Forces"[or something like that.... you see now why most just use ASF] ps If youre copying a map, youre gonna need to have one ready for PR, which means an edited init.con and all the spawner stuff set up. One easy way to do this is reinstall .756 under a different name. Do this by renaming your original install to something like PMC_PR then reinstall 756. The new install is your good to go multiplayer install. Then go into your PMC_PR levels folder and pick a map to alter. Just change the init.con in the zip and give it the needed faction/kits/etc[And whatever else is needed to get a faction into play in PR]. I say this assuming you might have just copied the folder straight over from vBF2 or left it with a folder name like "Copy of Gulf of Oman". :P Anyway, debugging it will give you the real reason, not my assumptions :P I need to go to sleep as well... so im out. | ||||

I like this idea,but just wait whit it untill we get scenario gamemode(if its still being made)
That will be incluiding extract and objective stuff right? |

Hey, can all of you people saying that you dislike this idea please tell us why? "I pretty hate them", "Me too!!"... Please explain to us why you do that, guys.
I dislike the idea with PMCs aswell. This because I think war shouldn't be waged for profits. MGS4 displays the worst kind of scenario possible, but it isn't that far from reality. Btw, I like the idea. PMCs is the future of warfare, and even though I dislike it, it's reality. A PMC-faction would fit well with the rest of the armies. |
