I have some advise guys.
I upgraded my computer only two months ago only to play PR. And it worth every penny sent My System Specifications
I'm playing with 1650 x 1050 resolution and every setting on High which is all ok with the 0.9 performance. The only significant problems are:
OK here is my question. I already spent my money for an upgrade. Only thing I can upgrade right now is my ram. Do you think rising my current 4 GB RAM to 8 GB will make significant effect on my game performance? Thank You! |

2 GB to 4 GB is a significant improvement for many computers. 4GB to 8GB I dont know about so someone else has to fill that in. [*]Sometimes abnormality on ground graphics while flying I think this is an engine issue and that more RAM wont help. [*]Having difficulty to find/locate INS caches. You wont find more caches if you got more RAM. Or did I misunderstood you?

I currently have 6gbs of RAM, mainly because of all the modding work I do, running 3DsMax, Photoshop and the BF2 editor all at the same time, I really need the RAM to ensure for smooth running and no crashes (thou the BF2 editor can still sometimes be bitchy as always, just not soo much about memory now I would btw be using 8gbs if one of my RAM sockets on my MB didn't fry But for just gaming alone, 4gb should really be sufficient for most games but upgrading RAM can not hurt (unless its really, really shitty ram Also topic moved to the General Technical Support forum, please post in the correct areas next time.

Its important to remember that windows flags applications on whether or not they can handle any addresses > 2 Gig.
If you wanna use a larger amount, you need to edit the BF2.exe. You can use a program called CFF Explorer (i think thats what its called) to set the flag. After that, the game works better if you got a lot of ram. Also, more RAM is alway a good idea, I got 6 gig and it works great as I can have alot running simultaneously. |

Same GPU here but less RAM!
I got 2GB on Windows 7 with Core 2 Duo E8400 3GHz anyway... I start playing with 86 FPS... after 2-4 hours My FPS drop to 15 (Not instantly) and after that I crash to desktop... I thought its an overheating issue in my GPU... but no... its not! So for me its a RAM issue as my RAM is running at 400.3MHz only I am not sure if its a RAM issue for you too... |

I have twelve gigs of Hyperx 1600MHz ram in my rig. The extra ram helps FPS to ceratin extent. After that, the ram helps with multiple programs running at one time. The videocard GDDR is a good indicator of power. The mroe GDDR and faster processing speed you have on the video card will make the most noticable difference in the video quality.
