-Technical Jumble-
For your RAM, I'd recommend switching to the DDR3, or at the very least getting 6GB of DDR2.

AFAIK you NEED DDR3 with a core i7 processor. Check your motherboard's spec sheet to be sure.

P.S. Also, for a computer that expensive a good SSD is a must. OCZ's Vertex line is great, as is Intel's SSD line. The OCZ agility line is similar to the vertex but slightly slower, so it isn't a bad buy (but ironically the Vertex can often be found cheaper).

Buy you SSD as a boot / PR drive. the 30GB Vertex SSD is my recommendation, as it can hold the OS and a couple important games. If you want ALL your games on an SSD, go with the 64 GB Vertex, but it will cost you. Make sure to buy a 500GB-2TB hard drive to supplement storage, though.

Also, the Vertex plus is a waste of money.

I can recommend you the Asus P6T motherboard with Kingston HyperX Tripple Channel Memory (3x2Gb 1800Mhz DDR3) and you don't need that much power supply (650-700 watt will be enough).

$2500 (American/Canadian?!) is just way too much for a computer.
