Default Nvidia 9800gx2 Overheat

Hey... I have over a longer period of time had massive trouble with overheating on this card. The newer the driver, the worse the problem. With older 160.xx drivers its running 80-90C idle. With the new january driver update its topping 90-100 idle... When playing PR with the new driver, the GPU reaches 120-130C, which is more than enough to boil eggs or make coffee, infact its so hot, touching the casing of the card, that if i held my finger on it, it would melt my prints.

And dont worry, ive downclocked the card as far as smart doc can do, running 100% fan speeds permanently with rivatuner. And the global graphics settings turned as far down as possible. I have cleaned the cooler recently, opened my computer casing and added a cooler on both ram ports, and on CPU cooler parts. Simply because im afraid that this card will toast my entire system.

Please give a hand with this problem, I dont have any experience with adding paste to closed box enviroments or what paste would be prefered. Would it be a bad thing to just remove the case to give the internals more "air" ?

nk.
