Memory Corsair XMS2 4GB PC-6400 800 MHZ (2 x 2 GB)- RAM is DDR2
Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285 XXX - 1 GB - 2xDVI/VGA (XFX)
Power Supply OCZ 600W Stealth XStream - Low Noise
Hard Drive 1 500 GB SATA-II HDD UDMA 300 7200 16MB
Optical Drive 1 Samsung (S222A) DVD PLUS/-RW 22x Dual Layer - Black (IDE)
Sound Card Motherboard Integrated 5.1 Sound
Networking Edimax Wireless LAN 54Mbps (PCI)
USB Ports 4 X USB 2.0 Ports
CPU Heatsink Speeze QuadroFlow VIII - Low Noise

What i was wondering is how long this will last until it cant play any newly released games. So im wondering if it could play new games released in2 or 3 years. If anyone knows could they respond?

Erm, their is no predicting that far in advance, but a lot of the stuff your putting on that is becoming old hat already, ie the RAM and Chip.

But, its should be a solid enough machine for a couple of years.

Have you considered taking a Phenom II 955 BE? It's 30 quit cheaper then the Q9550, yet it performs just as well. And AM3 CPU's are backwards compatible with AM2+ mobo's, which means you can still use cheaper DDR2 RAM.

lol too late its already been ordered with slightly different stats. Got a motherboard that supports crossfire so i can put another graphics card in if i ever need to. Got a better case with 3 fans. DDR3 RAM and also got a ATI radeon something??X2

lol just read this again. If anyone is interested i got the hd4870x2 so 2gb and the motherboard was Asus P5Q3 (Intel P45 chipset, DDR3, Crossfire). I was pleased with it but they didnt install the RAM properly :l but it comes back tommorow!!

Should still be OK by then

Good call on the card - can probably get another 4870x2 on the boxing day for 99$.
See what DX11 brings (in the few months) 1st.
