I know the players who are responding now should mostly be considered semi or hard-core but still, I think this is giving a clear signal.
People miss organisation and think the time we took for this was way to short. My first thought without working my brain on it to much is increase it to 3 weeks in between. A lot more negative feed-back than normal :( I think it shows us something. I know we are in between phases, and it should bte considered true feedback yet as of that. But if you read behind the negative feedback people seem to want organisation and more prep-time. Both points are sort of being thrown out of the window by our 2 week matches and less organisation Discuss? |

Well It went mildly Decent. The map wasn't Planned Asset or strategy wised for gameplay style we did.
For Upcoming matches. We can discuss if it will be relaxed or Planned prep. Desert Rats will be planned for Relaxed Gameplay @Matrox. For Strategy Matches. Can we use a 2nd forum just for that match. It would be a temporary thing obiviously. I plan on having up to 3 Strategy Matches by end of August. 2 in july 1 in August. |

Yea we need that for sure. The "public" seems to enjoy it as well. Just a temp solution. If the traffic isnt to high I might have got a server stashed away somewhere with a forum software running already.

We really need ideas for how we can get more organisation without external forums, maybe ask the public guys, you never know they could have the perfect idea and aren't telling anyone

well that would be getting us the same rights as the reds, changing the sign-up'ees user group and get 2 forum category's up for both sides. We can change them, so we dont have to risk a random forum dude messing with them, and we are with a bunch so it shouldnt cost us that much time. Thats how I would solve it quickly, before theres a decent system in place.

What im doing is i'm now discussing in the dev forums the need for external or internal forums. I understand it was hard having to work on a short deadline without, but we didn't have a choice. Having people come up with "we need forums again" also isn't helping the position, as I need suggestions that could work, as im worried the decision is going to get knocked back again.

Well if I understood correctly last time, the only persons able to change usergroups where the "reds". So why not give us R-COM's or 2 or 3 of us the same rights and get a usergroup: Opfor, Blufor and an Opfor and Blufor forum.
People sign-up. Us R-COM's do the usergroups, and change 'm back when the match is over. I mean, we already signed the agreement about not doing this, that and that over there, so why not add an additional part where it says: Mis-use of the usergroup power will get you banned from PR and its servers and the PR forums. If its anything like the forums Im on and administrated, it should be easy to set up. Its not as fancy as that system Wilkinson and Rhino where designing but it should fit the job nicely untill we have something better or maybe even automated. |

-One thing we could do is have signups for squad leaders only, then just go by a simple drop-in setup for the rest of the players(Maybe some non-binding non-team descript signup thread to gauge attendance), at least for "relaxed" games. No matter how relaxed you might want a match to be it's going to descend into chaos without any structure so there has to be a core of SLs and COs that actually herd the rest because no matter how much you want it not to be so a large part of the community is no more disciplined than the average pubber.
-So, we would have a signup thread for SLs and we would have to make demands of these people as to meetings, planning, and actually showing up at the event(We'd require a few reserves as well I think). These SLs would then set up the appropriate squads when the match starts and the rest of the team would then simply join TS/the server, join a squad, get a quick briefing, off we go. EDIT: This would also help alleviate some of the planning issues as well. |

So I ended up with chaos in my team after all. Couldnt get reserve squad-leaders. In theory it should work tho. I thought along the same lines as you did there. If you want to be SL in a community match you know you'd have to do a little bit more than if you'd be squad member. And that little bit more should only be being there and getting pm'd by the CO about possible plannings so you as a SL can get some tactics going. And than you get a squad, brief them and go. |

No, red tags abilities stay with them, as they get a lot of other responsibilities that can really break the forums, and in the past issues with the forums have arisen where someones checked something and a user has dev access all of a sudden etc etc. I asked if they would let me or a dark blue tag to have these responsibilites, and this recieved a no.
WRT tarantyco, that was how this event was supposed to go, with Sl's being selected, and then grunts falling in. unfortunatly, most of the people didnt turn up. Major changes to the forums wont be happening any time soon, as Gaz is away until the end of June. |
