cyberzomby;1046287']This is exacly what I tried to get going for this event. Didnt work now because 2 couldnt make it. So I ended up with chaos in my team after all. Couldnt get reserve squad-leaders. In theory it should work tho. I thought along the same lines as you did there. If you want to be SL in a community match you know you'd have to do a little bit more than if you'd be squad member.

And that little bit more should only be being there and getting pm'd by the CO about possible plannings so you as a SL can get some tactics going. And than you get a squad, brief them and go.
-Well, it is basically what we've all been doing all along  , It's just making it the official structure instead. I think it's worked out very well in terms of organization before, it's what I did for round 1 and what I think most of us COing do. The drop-in tactic we resorted to in the end for this match proved successful in my opinion and if people are made aware of this in advance I doubt we'd have any issues filling a server.

Make Norway OPFOR! NAO!

aaahw. Well thats one plan out of the window

Than another possibilty might be to get an external forum that is somehow linked to the database of this one. So you wont have to register again and can already sign in on that one. It is possible with certain forum/website systems. But this will need the attention of "the busy one". So its a fail plan as well.

to be honest, If theres no major changes till the end of june, the forum techie is always busy, and no custom rights (only rights to change usergroups, instead of all the other red-tag powers) theres not much left than an external forum or no forum.

EDIT: Ninja'ed by Tartan: Yea I did the same for Helmands return as well. It works the easiest. Just get your SL's up, that way you know how you can work with and who not and than let people select there own squads. Kinda bonds them to the squads as well as you select one and see there plans up front.
Matrox;1046291']No, red tags abilities stay with them, as they get a lot of other responsibilities that can really break the forums, and in the past issues with the forums have arisen where someones checked something and a user has dev access all of a sudden etc etc. I asked if they would let me or a dark blue tag to have these responsibilites, and this recieved a no.

WRT tarantyco, that was how this event was supposed to go, with Sl's being selected, and then grunts falling in. unfortunatly, most of the people didnt turn up.

Major changes to the forums wont be happening any time soon, as Gaz is away until the end of June.
Ahh no worries we got loads of time. But Eventually I would love to find a solution. Relaxed Gameplay will be our future for a bit til we prove we are doing something and until we are a tea.
We can start prepping though :)

Uhh suggestions I see regarding forums

We get our own Sub-Category and players use a Sign-Up Panel
We use an External Forum And get PR to create a Sub-Domain for us "communitymatches.realitymod.com"
we get a forum hosted By Project Reality and run it off of PR (Doubt this would happen and I don't like it anyway ;) )
ALSO REGARDING GAMEPLAY:
Suggested by Matrox*****

Basically think of the Mumble Nights. People get on mumble and play. We can release the map 2-3 days before match to Public Then people can join up. No signups and all works. All we need is Commanders and Some Teamwork.

Thats how I'd do the relax atmosphere community matches since it wont be anything more than a mumble night with some random public play. And leave the community matches to be planned with some strategy elements :)

Edit: let me know if Im bringin this up far to often :P I thought the discussion about this was still open.
