-I don't really see much point in making this map as it's basically South Village on Kashan. I think it would be a lot better to modify Kashan instead, adding the targets and introducing some varied terrain on that map. Additionally, having more training maps instead of a single one for all our needs would simply add more issues.

It's a point that was brought up in the meeting last night, but I though the opinion was that you need a custom map for your infantry lessons?

I'm all for modifying Kashan, as it's got quite a lot for all we need. North village is perfect for training, as you can do some long range action with sniper and grenadiers onto the village very easily. However, you will be taking the lessons, so the decison will rest purely on your shoulders. What do you want?

In the long run it might be worth it but in the short run, just think about getting the training working first using normal training maps etc.

-Well, if we were to make another map we'd have the following issues pop up:

1. It's one more thing people have to do to join a training event(Download the map). There's nothing of consequence that makes it superior to South Village on Kashan and in return we'd just have less potential particpants.
2. We'd have to change maps to do a course. As long as we're doing courses with infantry training we won't be able to do heavy assets like tanks, choppers, etc, and vice versa. It limits our options and adds another element that wastes time that could be spent training.
3. No inter-course(oh lol, intercourse... Somebody find me a better word :D ) capabilities. As no individual branch(Infantry, Armor, Air) operates in a vacuum we need to have the option to combine them at times. You may want to have passengers for some chopper drills, moving targets for tanks/attack choppers/etc, and so on. We'd just limit our options.


-Unless we could quickly slap together a modified Kashan for this and cram it into .869(Which I doubt, but that's beyond my knowledge) we should be using the current Kashan map because map downloads and stuff like that just dissuades people(Being an [URL="http://www.omgmod.com/frontpage.php"]OMG[/URL] player I know what the prospect of file downloads does to potential players).

-Now, as for a modified version of Kashan, this is what I think we'd need to add more spawn locations, add a forest somewhere, throw a whole lot of kit request spots around(Or is it possible to simply remove all of that so you can request kits wherever you are on the map?), add a few buildings to South Village(Notably two story buildings) to vary our CQC options there, and possibly move some of the assets around. I think we'll find out what exactly we'd need on the map through our test sessions.
