As most of you are probably unaware that BigD Gaming, Project Reality's home for those of us from Australia and New Zealand was granted access to host there own Community Match using a customised map edited by the Project Reality Community Event Team.
After what happened with the UK/USA Community Event we handed out the map link in plenty of time for people to sort themselves out, however we were a bit slow handing out the password. The plan was to jump on at 6:30 and have half an hour for the commanders to organise squads and do there things, but the password trouble delayed us for 30 minutes, so we got started at 7:30. The Insurgents got off to a good start by setting up mines and IED's around their first known cache and within minutes had blown up a full humvee and Bradley. As well as the tank in the minutes after. ![]() The Insurgents were well dug in as there were 3 caches in the same proximity, and had the USMC Commander very concerned about the ticket loss their team was suffering. However the USMC got right back in there and started repelling the Insurgents. ![]() ( [N/A]jamtheman__m engaging a target ) Once the caches around the petrol(gas) station were destroyed over the next 30 minutes 4 caches spawned in the hospital and tunnels and once again both teams dug in for a fight. ![]() ![]() ![]() ( USMC advancing ) It seemed the Insurgents weren't that pleased about the USMC advancing so they fired RPG's at them, in a hope that they would retreat for a while. ![]() However with a few bright lads using the grapple and coming up behind the Insurgents, as well as support from the tank, they were eventually over run. ![]() ( He was being ninja so I thought I'd encourage him ![]() The remaining caches were found rather quickly and destroyed, with the USMC team coming out with the win. It was a delayed night to start with but once everyone got on and started playing, most players being on mumble as well, fun was had by everyone ! It was a great night and hopefully more many more will come. Thanks for reading, Project Reality Community Event Team. |
