This suddenly came to mind and I think I've said it before somewhere on the feedback forum, but I wasn't really happy the way Teamspeak was being used.
Everyone in the team was divided into squads channels they were in. So Squad 1 in Squad 1 channel, Squad 2 in Squad 2 channel ect ect. I don't really know how this is organized in Tourney's but I didn't really find it of any use to be on teamspeak when you could talk to people in your squad trough ingame VOIP. Isn't it way more useful to put all Squadleaders in the same channel and all players in the other. This way, Squadleaders can talk to other squadleaders using Teamspeak (easy for requesting backup, asking questions, giving orders) and to their squadmembers using ingame voip. As for squadmembers, they can communicate with any other player from any other squad who might need their attention (APC requesting repairs from nearby engineer, grapplehook from nearby SpecOps, Warning a tank from approaching armor out of their sight). Might get a bit busy with 22 players in one channel, but with a bit of discipline on TS it might work. |

You're right, when iGi are leading multiple squads on a server that is what we do.
The only way to do it if the entire server populace is on TS is to have your keybindings set up to talk to other channels. So you join squad 1's channel, and can talk to squad 2 via key bindings (this requires use of efficient communication technique as to not fill the coms with traffic) But really, the squadleader is the primary communicator with other squads. |

Yeah, you can do it, we used to in my clan.
SLs would be in one channel and would be the channel commander or whatever it was called so they could speak to the squad OR to the other SL. Worked out really really well actually. I forget the specifics of it but it involves making the SLs into some sort of channel or server commander or something |

TS provides better voice for the squad, squad leaders just need to make key need to make key bindings to CO and other squads. A SL can be Channel Commander and he can talk to other channel commanders. This makes it alot better then always going through the CO to repeat every word they said.

i just don't think its necessary to have a whole squad in the same channel when you got BF2's VOIP function.

Its the commanders who make that call, I set up the Channels to be used however they wanted too, I even made them temp CA.
However the team wants to use it is the answer, thats not for the R-COM team to decide, I just provided a TS Server with channels for you? |

yes thats is how it`s done before B key for ingame voip for the squad and V key binded so all squad leaders hear the message to the commander all informed net.
as some of you have said there is no real need for squad members to be talk on TS but it does help if the admins/team commander want to speak to all partys. However UK_F is right we provide the tools you use them as you wish. |
