Will get the HK 416 aimpoint instead of MP7

Light AT:
Carl Gustav recoilless AT, 84 mm caliber

Heavy AT:

Eryx

Sniper:
M82

Marksman:

Will have the HK 417

DEV's will not let you guys use the M82 since its a .50 caliber sniper rifle. This has been discussed alot before.

The Norwegians are not using 50. cal guns on ground vehicles we normally use the 30. cal mg3 on our Gwagons and tanks

So I don't see the problem with having 2 50.cal snipers as we use in real life, on the battle field, they will do less damage than all of the cars with 50. cal's you see around today on PR.

The Norwegians on PR will not use 50. cal guns on ground vehicles but the 30. cal mg3

We wont make Project Reality unrealistic so we will use the weapons our armed forces use at normal

i find it hard to believe that there isnt a more 'standard' sniper rifle in use by the Norwegians, doesnt seem right to have a M82 used all the time.

There must be other sniper rifle that norwegians use against personnel M82 is a anti material sniper rifle and is not used against personnel, unless he is a high ranking officer at a extremely long distance etc. It is not realistic to have M82 in game because the game engine has its limits about anti material rifles. This has been discussed before, and the answer has always been: No.

Now, after some googling around i found out that the Norwegian standard anti personnel sniper rifle is the NM149S

There's your source. Stop whining.
Never trust Tom Bakkeli. Or mil.no.

According to various articles found both in his book and in magazines and newspapers, one could say that Norwegian snipers use (listing off the top of my head now):

HK417
NM149
MØR (M82)
MSG90
AG3 w/scope
AG3F2 w/scope

So either one of these could be used as sniper rifle.

In the Norwegian military, as of today, there is really no defined difference between the "marksman" and "sniper" concepts. The difference is diffuse, with the two roles overlapping to a degree. That's because there's never been a clear sniper/marksman doctrine. That's something that's about to be changed, with TMBN moving towards the use of marksmen (the same word is used for them in Norwegian, to separate them from snipers - the word "skarpskytter" covers both of the meanings). Their designated role is to support their squad with aimed fire at ranges beyond those covered by standard assault rifles. As opposed to the sniper, whose role is to provide intelligence and taking out key enemy personnell at great ranges. Snipers may or may not operate as part of a larger force.

The HK417 is slated to be the standard sniper rifle. The MØR is just that - a MateriellØdeleggelsesRifle, not really designed for engaging infantry, even though it's being used in that role. The marksman rifle, in my opinion, should be the AG3F2 w/ACOG, as it fills the void between the HK417 and the HK416. The 417 is not for use as a DMR, and the only reason it's being used as such is, as I've stated, that there is no clear marksman/sniper doctrine.

The .50 cal is not used alot by NF either way it breaks several rules in the standard ROE, because it is what it is its a MØR not a PØR (personnel ødlegelses rifle), besides Ninja2Dan has confirmed that the ligther and smaller sniper rifles are alot more accurate then the .50 cal and a sniper in that case will rather take a precise rifle then a brute force weapon.

Cant we wait until Johnandreas comes and can give a better qualified statement then most of us can.

Oh, and shooting at Taleban with 30mm HE rounds is allowed, but not with 12,7mm MP rounds (which, apparently, detonate after leaving the body anyway).

I love the Norwegian "weapon" policy, it must be the most random in the world

We are making Big Mac's out of the enemies with HE rounds, instead of just leaving a small hole in their body with a M82 rifle...
