"Lag" problem

Hello folks...

I got a little problem, yes i know you have just rad "lag" problem... But i it isnt real lag...

Let me explain:

Currently im using Vista Ultimate x64 and i got mystical lag every 60 seconds on ALL server.... Before that i used XP and no problems at all!

I got 8GB Ram
a Intel Quad
and a 280GTX

I installed the newest driver for everything but nothing happend... still got this problem... During the lag phase i can still talk to my squad without any problems... Maybe anyone know this problem?

Thanks,
CodedC

Re: "Lag" problem

Try putting AFFINITY 2 in your short cut 'target' window.
Mine looks like this:
"E:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" start /AFFINITY 2 +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +widescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

Change 'E' to your drive letter
set widescreen to fullscreen if you don't have widescreen
set the res to 1024x768 or higher
the same as your desktop .

This should force your system to run the game only with the 2nd core.
This might help.
Even tho the game isn't multi threaded your system may be tripping over it self trying to spread out the work load.
Anyway worth a try.

Good luck
PS If you still have trouble run battlefield cleaner to flush out your video cache files

Re: "Lag" problem

I read some where about windows looking for a better wireless network whether or not it needed to. Do you use wireless?
If so you can turn off the 'look for stronger signal' in your network settings.
Hope it helps

killer system BTW

Yes, I have read about this. Google "vista 60 second lag spike" for example. I canīt remember what exactly, but it definitely has to do with network discovery or wireless.
