I have the same problem.

I also tried thepalerider's suggestion and it didn't help me either. I've also triede to re-install the game without any success.

The game works fine in Traning Mode but PR also crashes when I hit the Audio-button in the options menu.

I'm running Windows XP.

Same problem here: Crash on Mapload, crash on hitting the Adio-Button. Running Vista Home 64. I just updated my Sounddrivers - still crashes.

When i open a LAN-Game PR crashes just before you could see the Join-Button. I already tried every suggestion, but no one worked.

I got the same problem how good are your computers. My computer is real old so if everyone else has a lower end computer maybe that could be the reason.

I have 3GHZ processor Intel Celeron, 1 GB RAM, GF 7800GS with 512MB RAM.

On this hardware earlier version of PR runs very good - so i think this isn't the reason.

Pls help - can anyone from the technical support take care of our problem?

If you're running at 800x600 resolution, this is a known issue. Up the resolution to 1024x768 or higher to fix.

This will be fixed in the next release.

Well, after bein quite sure i made all the installation right.

I tried the resolution thing, voilá it worked. I changed my ingame resolution from 800x600 to higher than 1024 x 762 and it worked!

Re: Crash to desktop

SOLUTION:

I had this kind of problem with load and sound:

pls, first check your vanilla BF2 and load a map which DOESNT support VOIP (without the little headphones icon). If such server works, AND if during the installation you got error message because of sound something, problem lies in:

3rd party random sound/music program (Soundtaxi, DRM ripping software… etc) or codecs or drivers or hardware which conflict with VOIP system BF2 and PR use. Most likely, its only some program so check those, especially if BF2 did run smoothly in the past.

solved thx to EA tech support
