Handshaking

PnkBstrB.exe handshaking error.

God is it pissing me off. I've tried all the 'solutions', some of them seem to work, but none of them permanent. Does anyone know of a permanent solution to this pain in the ass?

The most frustrating part is, PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe is running after I restart my computer. But for some unknown reason, something decides to kill the process upon loading into a server.

PnkBstrB.exe has its own service in the admin tools section after a fresh install of PunkBuster, but something decides to remove it from there too and leave only PnkBstrA.exe as a service.

Any Ideas?

well have the same problem at 0.8 a reinstall must be a permanent one i always run punkbusterb manually on then join pr...

Check out this recent 6 page thread. There are some decent solutions. 1 was a temporary fix for me that involved deleting the pbns_c.dat file prior to joining a server.

That solved everything. All I do is make a batch file in my BF2 folder.

Del "pb\pbns_c.dat"
Start "Project Reality 0.8 Launcher" "mods\pr\pr.exe" +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1
Exit

Make a shortcut on the desktop, and everytime I change servers I have to delete that pbns_c.dat file. But it sure beats reinstalling PB every time (as most solutions recommend)
