For some reason when playing on a server the game just drops to desktop, i can join a server for around 5-10 minutes before it crashes me to desktop and it doesn't come up with any errors at all.
I have tried reinstalling bf2 and patch then adding on project reality but it still didn't fix it, and my punk buster is up to date. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks |

Re: Game Crashing
Yeah .8 is FUBAR for me too.
Clean install Bf2 Patch 1.4 PR v0.8 In the menu area sometimes clicking on a button minimizes to desktop too. In game it crashes to desktop without notice in no see able pattern. Running Max everything. XP 4Gb Ram 8800Gt & 8800GT (x3 22" monitors) .7 Never a hick up. Only thing that has changed since I use to play .7 is that I connected a 3rd monitor, hence why I mention it. |

Re: Game Crashing
so you already tried deleting the bf2 shader cache?
and updated punkbuster manually? |

Does you screen flash black for a second or two? I've read 80% of CTD are caused by overheating video card issues, so rule out overheating issues by opening your case, cleaning inside and setting up a large fan to blow into the open case while you play a few rounds. If that helps install a extra fan or two. don't forget to clean the power supply too with dust off. Hope it helps |

Re: Game Crashing
It's not overheating. 0.8 has a major problem with crashes.

Re: Game Crashing
Yeah typo.
1.41 I did delete the shader files and reinstall PR. It seems to have made a difference but not 100%. I have still had my screen go black for a second then I am at desktop. But at the moment no where near as much as it was. I would say it isn't a heat issue because my system doesn't break a sweat at full everything on BF2. |

Re: Game Crashing
I have the same problem - I can join a server and play for about 10 min (sometimes less and sometimes more) and then CTD. I don't have any overheating problems.
