Changing Affinity Causes Sound Bug

Hello, I run Vista 64 Ultimate with 4GB Ram, a 4GB Page File, and many settings turned down. I have also tried the Visual Studio thing.

I have the Issue with Lag and have tried setting the processor affinity. This completely cures the lag, but causes the sound to crackle and stutter. It sounds like if the cable in the back were loose. Has anyone else experienced this or found a fix?

How fast is your CPU?
Unless it's really fast (2.6+)
I would just set the sound to med. but keep hardware.
It's all about getting the right balance for your rig.
Have you checked out the tweak guide for bf2?Be sure to read his system tweaks as well.
If you have 4 gigs of ram I don't think you need a page file even running Vista. If you have a fast usb flash drive you could set it up for Vista ready boost instead of a page file(it's faster) but really not needed with all that ram.
You can also tweak Vista to adjust how 'super fetch' works (just apps, boot files+ apps ect).
Are you using your desktop shortcut to set affinity?
Mine looks like this:
"E:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" start /AFFINITY 2 +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +widescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

hope it helps

core 2
I think it makes the game use the 2nd cpu or core but 'SnipingCoward' posted there's a difference between dual core and dual cpu so it may not be effective on dual core.
BF2 isn't a multi threaded application so it can't take advantage of more than one cpu. I hope 'AFFINITY 2' does help with dual core systems splitting the work load. I use it and I have media center recording tv in the background all the time, tho most if not all the work is done by the tv card(ATI 550TP).
So try it.
It may help
