Please Help Random crash to Desktops with V0.8

I have installed installed o.8 and since then I have very frequent CTD's, with no error messages.


Firstly if you have similar CTDs try these steps as they have helped other people, just not me.

Obviously I checked the forums and did the following...
I have vista 32bit edition so i checked the PR shortcuts were correct and made sure I run as administrator.

Checked my Resolution was above 1024x1080,

Made sure my textures are medium,

Manually updated punkbuster

Updated my drivers for my graphics, sound and motherboard.

Re installed patch bf2 1.41.

My computer uses 3Gb of ram, 4Gb page file set aside, Athlon X2 6000+ processor Radeon 2600 XT 512mb Graphics card. I never had any problems on the v.75 and i am out of ideas. Any help would be great.

I forgot to Add, that these Crashs have been hapening during loading,and after 10 15 minutes of gameplay, there is realy no pattern to say when it will crash, and no warning.

might be overheating, check your temperatures

delete the bf2 cache

By Cache do you mean the file called LogoCache?

I only have a folder called LogoCache, no folder called just "Cache"


also, any idea how to run PR in windowed mode?

the shader cache is at "...\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache" not in the installation folder of bf2

delete every folder ({1234...}) in there

Clearing the cashe worked for me, i have had 1 ctd since in the 2hours i played but even so that was far better than evry 5 mins like before, i hope it lasts.
