PR 0.8 Problem SOS

Hi, i have slow bandwidth so downloaded the latest Core installer over night last night. When i woke this morning and checked it all had been downloaded, however when i clicked on the core setup it said select an application to run this file. thus my confusion! i have a picture of the icon too -
The icon usually show that the file has no software to run it.
i am in the process of downloading the levels setup to see if by doing this it makes it runable but if its the same as pr 0.7 it shouldnt matter if u downloaded the levels or not Right?

You need to download the 0.8 levels and your core setup did not finish downloading.

ok i am downloading levels but core is fully downloaded, its the correct size and there was no error message

Sorry I don't know then, the only time I've seen a download become an unknown file is when it didnt fully download. I would say re-download it.

hmm yeh sure but my download speeds are pathetic cuz i live in the countryside thats why i downloaded it last night over night and tommorow ive got work so i cant be akept awake by my pc all night so ill have to wait till next weekend, thanks for your help though, anyone else see any different problem im happy to listen! thanks

When it has the correct size, just rename the file to pr_0809_core_setup.exe and try to execute again.

if its still not working - to avoid having to redownload it completely you can either try a download manager (FDM, GetRight) or a torrent client (uTorrent) to continue the download

use either program start a new download - select a different download location - start downloading, stop downloading after a few seconds

then close the program - replace the newly downloaded file with the old one from your desktop. then restart the program and continue downloading
