Frustrating... please read, help if you can.
Alright first off I’d like to say Project Reality is a great game, I consider it to be what battlefield 2 was capable of being but failed to deliver. However through my time in Project Reality (which is rather short) I’ve noticed many little things that make the game not worth playing due to the hassle it can create. The following is a list of the issues I’ve had in the game.
Game Launch: What should always be an easy task is for this game a role of the dice... whenever I go to open the game there are three things that can happen. 1.The game launches normally and I can play, no problem 2.The game hangs on a black screen for ages before the BBS logo comes up or PR freezes and no longer responds thus forcing me to “end task” and try again (though I think I solved this by setting my monitors resolution to 1280x960 before launch) 3.The game freezes upon the ad that is there to close saying “prv.08 is out download now” and I am again forced to “end task” and try again Notice how it seems to be the luck of the draw... it’s completely random. One more thing I’ll bring up is how frustrating to is to connect to the main server on upon the login screen, most of the time it fails to connect and really becomes irritating (though I understand this is a BF2 fault not PR) Lack of full spectrum resolution support: Lucky for me I found a post on these boards telling me how to get my PR to accept an 800x600 resolution when loading/playing games because without that I wouldn’t be able to play at all... I’m on an older HDTV and my options in BF2 only list 800x600 @60hz as an option, thank you whoever posted the solution. My point is I’ve read about many people having the same issue... Those are my main problems now after playing around with the settings/reinstalling everything as guided and solving the PB issues everyone seemed to be having... so I’ve made a lot of progress as I don’t seem to be dropped from the game every few minutes. So what plagues me is the fact the game is so unstable, random memory leaks.... quitting the game to find that my desktop has gone black due to errors in the game and so forth, it’s really getting to me. The only reason I could possibly think of is that I am running 64-bit vista ultimate edition and yes, it is a legal store bought copy. I’ve never had issues with Vista, but I am willing to think it may be the problem... though I doubt it. My comp specs: 9300 quad core 9800GX2 4GB-1600ghz DDR3 RAM Those are the main components in my new system... the beast can handle anything I throw at it without fault... but for some reason your MOD is giving it so much trouble, even back in v.075 there were many of the same issues. If anyone can think of why my game is acting so strangely please help, I’d love to join the league but first I’d like the game to run stable on my system Best wishes, Kevin D. Lee |

Re: Frustrating... please read, help if you can.
It might be an obvious question, but have you checked the " xp compatability mode" on the PR .exe. Also your quad core may be causing problems as bf2 can only use one. You can set your comp just to use one core for the game by setting the affinity on the .exe properties.
