Cannot play PR! crashes, crashes, crashes!

Okay here are the straight facts so that nobody gives me advice for a different problem:
-I have XP NOT Vista
-I did NOT have 0.75(or any previous) versions installed
-I have POE2 installed and it works just fine
-I did not change the mods path or destination
(it said "...EA Games/Battlefield 2" but went to "..EA Games/Battlefield2/mods")
-I did not double click on the server, I clicked "Deploy"(heard there was a crashing error with double clicking on servers)

Story: I installed PR 0.8 yesterday and I opened it up and tried to join a server, when I came back from the bathroom it was gone so I tried again to connect(crashed again) then I tried a different server...
Just to be sure I unistalled PR, then reinstalled it and it STILL crashes, please help!

I have the same problem. What i did:

- First i forgot to uninstall the previous version so i thought that was the problem. So i uninstalled it from 'software' and then deleted the 'pr' map (there were some remaining files)
- Then i reinstalled PR but the problem still occurs (not with the errorsound but it just goes back to the desktop).


I run Windows XP on a AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ and a NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT card. I did not had any problems with the 0.75 version of Project Reality.

The problem occurs when i join a normal server, a trainingsserver but also when i create my own trainingserver (local) in the game.

What resolution are you running the game at?
Game needs to be set to 1024x768 or higher.

I said set to ABOVE 800x600. Set to 1024x768 or higher.

Wonderfull! That was the problem. It works good at 1280

Mine is set to 1024x768, anyways, it works just fine. But when I try to join a server it messes up.

no, what map pack?
the Levels folder yes, what map pack?

It crashes when its going to join the server, JUST when the thing says connection to server and right before it starts connecting it crashes to the desktop and I can work other programs like nothing even happened.

so have you installed both Core and Levels? (check the download section you will find both there)

are you sure you have set the ingame resolution to above 800x600? some ppl like to confuse ingame res with desktop res

if so run pr in windowed mode and post the error message here (change the shortcut where it sais "+fullscreen 1" to "+fullscreen 0")

I also have this problem. Running 1680x1050, all details on high. I had the last version of PR installed, but installed all components of it before installig the new version.
