Ramiel lags like crazy

So far really enjoying 0.8, but a major problem I have encountered is that the map 'Ramiel' really lags. The issue is, every few seconds the game just freezes for another few seconds. It seems to get worse the longer I play (longer and more frequent freezes). This is the only map where I have encountered this problem. Doesn't appear to be network lag as my ping to these servers is usually <150 and I never get a connection warning. My rig is beefy enough that it should be eating even these large maps for breakfast. Is anyone else having problems when playing this map? I'll include that I'm running Vista 32, 'cause I'm sure people are going to blame this on Vista.

What are your system specs? Have you tried turning your settings down?

Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 @ 2.7GHz
Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT, driver version 177.83
2GB RAM @ 1066MHz
Vista 32 SP1

If I need to turn down settings for this one map to run properly, then I don't know how anyone runs this map at all. I run COD4, ArmA, BioShock, you name it on practically max settings with great FPS...

Right now my only theory is that it's some kind of virtual memory/paging file issue because that map has a LOT of objects.

Have a good defrag, extend your pgfile and get back to us?

im having a very bad lag problem as well, not just on ramiel its all servers. how should i extended my pagefile?

Hmm... I'll risk saying it again, but Im not sure at all whats causing the crazy lag. Aside from the obvious ton of buildings[not being sarcastic/facetious] I could understand low systems having trouble but a lot seem to be rather high end. I have a midrange PC and get about what I get on other maps :\

The frequent freezing/pausing seems like it might be from accessing the HD and that being slow?

Idk.. :\ id love to figure it out though... is it mainly when flying? does it occur at the airport? does it occur when walking in the desert/fields? in the city? Anywhere more so than another place? :\

idk but on TB server ramiel tends to have lagspikes for the first few minutes. afterwards its ok but in the beginning, oh my.

and no, it's not my pc. it's the server. all the ppl in my squad had it and there were some with really awesome rigs.

I've got it too! Turned everything to medium from high (running at 1920 x 1200) and its fine now. Seems to be a ram issue as my harddrive is constantly hammered for the whole of the level, now i've turned the settings down its not.... Only got 2 gb of ram.

Anyone got more? Thoughts?
