Crash on Deployment(Vista)

The game loads up fine, but when I try to connect to a server it crashes instantly. The game worked fine on my XP drive, but I don't use it anymore and I really want to be able to play it on Vista.

I have in-game settings set to all high, AA x4, and 1280x1024. And this under the shortcut for my resolution; +szx 1680 +szy 1050. I've also already done that "fonts" trick and ran in windowed mode and still crashes at same part. And for some reason I can't even go to audio in-game because it will crash when I try to go to it in settings.

Drivers are up to date, punkbuster up to date, clean install of BF2 before installing PR.

Hardware; Vista Ultimate x32
Intel e6600 2.40GHz
4GB RAM
Nvidia 8800GTS 640MB
Creative SB X-fi
and plenty of HDD space

I experience the same crashing when I "deploy" to a server. This never happened to me in 0.756 but since I installed 0.809 it has occurred every time I try to connect... It also crashes when I try to create a local training server.

Instead of doing my fix, try AncientMan's way
