Re: Lag all the time - help needed!
What I meant was, use the Windows "Repair Network Connection" option. It resets your PC's connection to the router and resets a cache.
Right, your ping's still high to google (I'm getting 44ms from the UK at present). Next step, ping your router. It's probably at something like 192.168.2.1. You should get 1ms or so. This is to check the problem's not your PC and router, rather than the line you connect to. |

Re: Lag all the time - help needed!
Another thought - if youre on a crappy broadband deal, you may have gone over your "fair useage" limit after downloading 0.8 and now youre getting throttled. Ive heard a few ISP's do it.
Im with Sky - I get a 8mb connection ( and acheive very close to that )and I download about 15gb a month for £5 Also a while back I was chatting to customer services and mentioned I play alot of games - they said "we'll put you on gaming settings" and my ping almost halved instantly even so the speed didnt change! Another tip - if your using Vista click the PR .exe properties and then the compatability tab. Then check the "disable desktop compostion" and it will free up quite a bit of memory when you play |
