Forcing 1440x900 Resolution

Does anyone force their resolution to 1440x900 for a 19" monitor here? If so do you feel it looks the way its supposed to? Its strange going from everyone being scrunched down to everyone being normal looking and I don't even know if its right... Can you post a picture or 2 of what your game looks like with this resolution?

A lot of us are forcing widescreen resolutions in PR, via shortcut.

It looks just fine for me, way better then without forcing, although it isn't true widescreen field of view.
Proper widescreen field of view you can get with a little piece of software called widescreen fixer (download it here), which you can turn on/off while you are in game, and you can see yourself what is best for you.

Set up in your shortcut the x and y resolutions and then in addition get the widescreen fixer. Theres a slightly older version thats said to be more PunkBuster compatible, but ive heard people using the new one with no problems. Your call.

Running both resolution in shortcut and widescreen fixer together is the best, imo. Tried it once, nearly crapped myself, never played again without it :P

Yeah I do it using the shortcut and i'll give the widescreen fixer a try.

Would one of you mind posting a picture for me?

Wow, you were right. That widescreen fixer works wonders, the game looks "good" now. Thanks.

i couldnt get the widescreen fixer to work, it always had " fix enabled: no"or what ever, did you need to assign a button to make it work?

edit: hmm worked, but decreases FOV

edit 2: no it increases FOV

the default button is ";", I don't think you can change it.

This is what it looks like. Although it is 1440x900 it still looks stretched.

Note the oval shape of the scope.

Re: Forcing 1440x900 Resolution

It's your minimap on top right corner that gets stretched, not the game world.

You see, the world in PR is 3 dimensional, not a 2-D picture and your screen is only a window to that world. When you change the window dimensions (a.k.a. your screen resolution), the world and its dimensions stay the same, but you see different slice of it. Increase horizontal resolution and you see more at edes of your screen, increase vertical resolution and you see more at top and bottom of your screen. And vice versa, naturally.

Objects in the 3-D portion of the picture never stretch.

Sorry to break you theory, but your scope is perfectly round It's diameter is 460 pixels (give or take 1 pixel) both horizontally and vertically.
