BF2 PRM in Vista 64bit ..... FAIL! - Page 2

Rather than making a new thread. This is slightly related.

I just built my new PC and are now running Vista 64 bit as well but it wont even let me install BF2 at all let alone PRM. Anyone else have any suggestions? It will start installing get to the maps and an error will coming up saying "Battle Field 2 could not install. Please try again from the beginning."

Right click on icon and select properties
Go compatibility tab
Check the following:
-Run in compatibility mode (with XP SP2)
-Disable visual themes
-Run as administrator

With Vista and UAC (User account control) vista runs the launched application as non-admin if not stated otherwise (you get the popup)

BTW. Next time use search function and then post in the vista related stickies

What icon are you talking about? I can go to my computer and select the drive but when I choose properties it doesnt give me an option for compatibility.

I believe 'thy-b0x' used 'PRM' as an abbreviation for
'Project reality multiplayer'.
However Project Reality is primarily a multiplayer game
so most just use PR.
The Single Player element of the Project Reality mod is not incorporated within the mod.
Singleplayer is an addon that you have to download and setup seperately.
So when talking about Project reality single player use the abbreviation PRSP.

PR installs a desktop shortcut you should use to start PR.

P.S. I'm running PR on Vista 64 home premium just fine.

Thanx guys! been havin some problems myself with new vista problem, installed everything by the book, but by following the guidelines and screen pics from Deadfast, this has been resolved!! Thanx again to all you genius's.. but this doesnt mean I won't go easy on you in the field! cya there!

People, I need your help...urgently.

I recently installed Vista x64 and just like last year when I had first tried running PR under the same OS, it's not working. I am getting the same error message as the one thy-b0x was getting, and PR is not working.

I have tried everything above, to no avail. Please, don't make me reinstall Windows XP *AGAIN*!!!
