Hey peeps,

I am getting a nice 22" widescreen soon for my PC and i heard there are some problems with battlefield 2 and widescreens.

Could someone take the time to give me the details of the problems and if there is any solutions to them that i should start getting ready?

the last thing i want is a nice big monitor and not being able to play my favorit game on it.

Samsung SM226BW by any chance? load of people have that monitor me included

I use a widescreen fixer for BF2, its on the forums somewhere, just search for widescreen fixer and download it, you'l need to edit your start up line so add in your new resolution for the fixer to work with too. Nice one on your new purchase to, now you can join us "hackers" in our ability to have a wider angle of view muahahah

The only problem I get with the fixer is when you go into scope/binoculars it automatically changes your resolution and you can momentarily see it switching between the 2. Its compatible with punkbuster so you wont be getting kicks or anything.

PS that monitor looks great for its price, its better than mine and this cost me more

I also have a 22" widescreen LCD and this is how my shortcut looks like:
pr.exe +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +widescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

Too bad the bf2 widescreen doesn't modify your field of view and cut's the top and bottom instead but I can live with that.

NOTE: You MUST ONLY use v1.32 of the Widescreen Fxer for BF2/PR, as this is the only build that is officially 'cleared' with PunkBuster and EA as safe to use.

Here is a list of common resolutions and their aspect ratios. (in case you missed it on the web site below downloads)



* 640x480 = 4:3

* 720x480 = 15:10

* 720x576 = 5:4

* 800x600 = 4:3

* 848x480 = 16:9

* 960x600 = 16:10

* 1024x768 = 4:3

* 1152x864 = 4:3

* 1280x720 = 16:9

* 1280x768 = 15:9

* 1280x800 = 16:10

* 1280x960 = 4:3

* 1280x1024 = 5:4

* 1360x768 = 16:9

* 1440x900 = 16:10

* 1680x1050 = 16:10

* 1920x1080 = 16:9

* 1920x1200 = 16:10

I think they (DEV.) have true widescreen in PR 8

dang must be related to work then, will try when i get home, all i seem to get is "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

oh well.
