Hey guys. First off, I would like to say that Project Reality is looking amazing and is the sole reason I am buying BF2. I've always wanted a realistic military operations game and this mod looks like it will be just that.
Anyways, I recently got a new computer and I was wondering if this will be able to handle BF2 w/ PR. (I have the demo and it works perfectly on all high settings) Dell Inspiron 530 Intel Core 2 Quad Processor 4 GB RAM at 800 MHz GeForce 8300GS (that's my main concern) So, how will BF2 w/ PR run on my system? Thanks for the help |

It should work, but dump that video card if you want a full experience. Radeon 4850 is the best bang for the $ atm imo XFI based card with EAX 5.0 for the "BEST" sound Mouse with a "DPI" switching (on the fly) button. What resolution (monitor) do you have?

The video card should be fine, my advice is make sure your PSU has the right connectors for the next gen video card, and unless there is any game you can't play right now i would wait for the next gen cards to get a bit cheaper, and put two of em in.

He'll need 2 PCIe slots to put 2 cards in besides "the next gen" is a few months away a least. I have one 4850 right now on my "main" PC (have 4 That gives me 100fps minimum on any map and you can find one for about ~160 CAD. Like I said your card will work but not maxed out at high resolution, play with what you have and if not "happy" get what's listed below: Other VGA cards that will work great: NV:8800gt(s)/9800gtx/9800gx2 ATI:4850/4870/4870x2 the last one should be out pretty soon, but will cost you $$$. The 48xx series are the only cards that support 7.1 audio throe the HDMI cable (good for movies) Other "cheap" ATI cards: 3850(512mb) 3870 these 2 are fine but have a "problem" running high AA settings. The anti aliasing setting in the PR/BF2 will not go as high as x8 with 8300gs. Try this commands to check for FPS: ` (to open console) renderer.drawfps 1 game.lockfps 0 See what gives.

Thanks alot guys for the help. With my old computer, I wasnt even going to attempt to play this game. Thankfully, Mother Nature took care of my problem with a well played lightning bolt! I cant wait to get in on some PR!
