Disaster in LCS need recommendations
Decided to take the plunge and bought a new liquid cooling system early in the week due to recent overheating problems while playing PR. It has failed already due to a (pre-assembled) reservoir failure even after I tested it beforehand
Well it is a total f'up, but can anyone recommend a decent all in one liquid cooling system to fit in 5&3/4" bays? Looking to avoid this.... ![]() Lucky that it only fried my DVD drive; which acted as container to hold most of the coolant before it had chance to get to my HDD's ![]() Something similar to this system just not utter shite: ![]() Also looking for NB/SB waterblock recommendations for a 680i LT, which I haven't replaced yet as it is really hard to find one for the southbridge on a 680i LT Any help would be much appreciated, thanks. |

Re: Disaster in LCS need recommendations
There really isn't any good all-in-one solution for drive bays like you're asking. And of the ones that exist (all bad), Thermaltake is the worst. You really should just bite the bullet and go shopping at DangerDen and get some good gear and assemble a custom solution for your particular needs rather than going through these one-size-fits-all solutions.
Also, get some PC ICE to avoid any more fried components in case there is an other failure. It's a little more expensive, but you can literally pour this on a powered motherboard with no adverse effects. Either that, or go with a full mineral oil immersion. |

I used a none conductive fluid...yes it didn't explode/ conduct but it has crystallised any messed up all the leads and mechanisms Edit: BTW if I wanted to keep a smaller-ish case are phase changers/ other refrigeration methods easy to get hold of now? As I can hardly find a single one in the UK and would look ideal for my situation, although depends on the price. Edit 2: Ok looks like the min size for one of those would still be greater than my PC, scrap that idea.... ![]() | |

Re: Disaster in LCS need recommendations
Thanks, my current situation is i'm getting a warranty replacement for the broken LCS due early next week + a few extra parts. As I decided to include an additional radiator on the back of my case as well as the NB waterblock block that eventually came in.
I'm just glad the retailer I used wasn't that draconian with their returns policy as some of the others i've seen. Planning to mod the system I get back with a drip tray and a load of duct tape |
