VoIP Problem
Hello everyone
I'm new to PR and this forum, so first of all, i would like to say hello to everyone! I've been playing for a few days and man, this is great fun! But I noticed it's kinda impossible to play the game without VoIP support. The problem I have, is that whenever I join a server with VoIP enabled in the audio menu, I get disconnected as soon as the map has loaded. I already tried the "ESC button" trick, but that doesn't seem to work. If VoIP is disabled, everything works fine. I'm running Vista with Sony Vaio FZ21M (laptop) Thank you! Mutsy |

Run the full 1.41 patch
Does your mike work with other apps/games? Set up your mike in windows and try to record a sample. Be sure to have "mike boost" checked on. Start Pr and check mile boost on as well. Does the mike test work now? Set use voip on set mike key Set threshold to 1-5 if your using headset. Higher if using speakers. Music to 1-5% Set sound effects to 25-45% any higher and it's hard to hear voip clearly in tank or A-10 Hope it helps |

Re: VoIP Problem
Hi palerider, thank you for the reply.
I've read everywhere about the mic boost, but I just can't turn mic boost on ingame, and i can't seem to find it in the windows setup. The only thing I can find is a slider with + x dB. (it's in dutch so i'm nut sure that's what i need to turn on, I put it to + 10 dB). The problem also is that I can't configure the audio using the BF2VoiceSetup.exe program. It doesn't capture my voice... BUT, when testing ingame with the mic test, it DOES capture my voice.. so i'm not sure that's the problem... the windows voice recorder works so i'm sure my mic works properly. so the main problem is the mic boost which i can't enable (can't find it in windows as well... stupid...) and the fact that it keeps on disconnecting everytime I try to connect with voip enabled. I also read about portforwarding a few ports, but i don't exactly know how it works.. is this necessary? edit: So I tried portforwarding the necessary ports mentioned in the game booklet, but it still doesn't work... I'm guessing it's a vista thing.. |

Go to your settings/control panel/sound
Click on the recording tab on the top(center tab) Select microphone so it is highlighted Click on the Properties button on the lower right Click on the Custom tab on top(center) Check on mike boost to turn it on. You can do the same thing by right clicking on the speaker icon in the lower tray next to the clock. Once mike boost is on you should be able to turn it on in game as well. Run the mike test in game. Turn voip on and set key for it Mike threshold to 1-5 if you use headphones, higher if you use speakers. Set music to 5% and sound effects to 25-45% Any louder and you can't hear voip well inside tank or the A-10 Check out this guide It will help you setup the in game settings even if they're in another language on the computer your using. Hope this helps |

Re: VoIP Problem
tnx again palerider
it looks like the problem lays within my internet connection, although i have 4mbit connection and don't experience lag in other games.. I tried it in a small server, and it worked, but big servers don't seem to work...... hate this stuff |

Re: VoIP Problem
If you have a creative X-FI.
TAB out and change game mode to entertainment and back to game mode. It might not let you changeit, but your problem is fixed. TAB back in. |

99 % bet it's firewall issue.
Check the last posts on sticky: http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-...hooting-7.html The answer can't be that hard to find. |
