Problem Installing Battlefield 2

So, heres my problem,

I try to install the game. I put the disk in, th CDkey, everything, and it starts installing. I get to the second disk, everything is ok until it starts to install the file Fushe_pass/client.zip At this point the computer stops responding. I have used another copy of the game as well and it still will not install past this point. I have used both disk drives on my PC. I have defragmented both drives. I have turned off all Antivirus, etc. I have Deleted all temporary files and crap. I have also deleted any previous installtion data from BF2. It takes about 30% memory when installing according to a diagnostic. All Direct X is up to date.

Help?

i think you will need a CD key for a CD version, rather than a DVD key, but if you have what looks like a read error on your disk, try a different CD/DVD drive, try making a backup of the disk and run from that, or go get your CD "repaired" at your local IT shop. Alternatively buy a new DVD version, its cheap.

Also check your HD sectors for file errors, as you could be writing into a bad block, which can become increasingly likely as you run out of space on your HD.

You could always install a "not-so-legal" copy and use your fully legal CD key

Turn 360 degrees and walk away is what you should do tbh.

I have a "CD" version of BF2, and I can use that CD key just fine with a "DVD" version...

99lynx your CD is most likely damaged, these days CD's dont have nearly the same quality, does not take much to damage them.

New version of BF2 is $10 online.... I would try some other things, but just remember for next time to make a backup of the CD's, you then dont have to worry about keeping the CD's in perfect condition and can safely toss em
