I can back this up, ESPECIALLY EA CDs. They use the cheapest discs they can; I've lost 1 DVD drive to one and I got 2 more CDs ready to blow.

Read:

"The long fool proof way to fix most BF2 and PR mod Errors"

If you have tried installing from two separate bf2 cds.
Each one in good shape and being the "disk1" installer.
I'm gonna guess buying yet another cd set ain't gonna fix it.
Follow the FULL uninstall guide and try again.

To save ware and tear on your cd
download a mini disk image of BF2 and
use a free app like DAEMON Tools Lite to mount it.

Mini disk images only contain enough stuff to allow you to run the game without a real cd/DVD in your drive.
You must have a working install and S# to play.
