more problems
Ok, so I re-formatted and got everything to install correctly.
Now my problems only begin. Everytime I click the shortcut I get the hourglass for a second, then it does nothing. I tried to delete the contents of the pr.exe text fine in the main BF2 folder and I was finally able to start pr. After playing for about 2 mins I got a weird error with punkbuster and got booted. The short time I was in the game the textures looked funny, and were flashing in certain areas. Ill try again and post the exact error I received to better troubleshoot this problem. |

Re: more problems
It was a punkbuster MD5tool error, but not the ones described.
I should mention that I installed the "pr_0756_core_setup" rather then doing .7, then doing the .75 patch as mentioned in the install directions. Why do things have to be so difficult? BF2 is a butt in itself to get working nowadays. I have been absent from bf2 for a year or so. |

Re: more problems
Ok, I do not know what the crap is going on at all now. I re-installed everything, taking extra care to follow the directions to the tee. I click on the PR shortcut that installed itself on my desktop. The BF2 splash screen appears, then nothing happens. I stare at my desktop forever. BF2.exe and pr.exe are in my processes in the task manager, but nothing is happening.....FRUSTRATION!!!

Re: more problems
windows XP. 3.333 ghz pent 4 Dell XPS gen 2 with a radeon 9800 pro, 1.5 gigs of RAM. Pretty crappy by todays standards, but ran BF2 perfectly back in the day.
Oh and I just did a fresh re-format. |

Rerun the full 1.41 patch
Check your shortcuts. Should look like this if your installed on the default "C" drive. "target" "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" start / +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 "start in" "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\" Don't mess with the pr.exe (the text file) in the main bf2 folder. You will get kicked without it. Reinstall "core" if you deleted it Basically it tells the bf2 engine to use custom shaders we see as the suppression effect. |
