This has been really bugging me. I've been trying to join my buddies to play in PR, but no matter what I do I can't get around this.
Please help me quickly. I'll describe it, then picture. Okay, I load normally to 100% and then it does Loading client info blah blah. After it's done that, I see the 'join game' button. Either instantly when I see the button or 2 seconds after I see it (aka instantly or 2 seconds after I totally finish loading) it crashes to desktop. Tonight I ran it in a window to diagnose the error. Here you go. Also, this doesn't happen on very small servers (around 0-5 players) ![]() ![]() Also, if you really need PC specs even if it's totally nothing to do with the error or anything.. Vista Home Premium 32-bit NForce 790i dual-sli motherboard NVidia GeForce 9800GTX Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 (2x 3.00GHz core) 4GB Corsair TWIN-X RAM |

What is your PR history?
I/E "I've been playing fine for months when suddenly last Friday boom I get this" What have you tried so far? Is Vista up to date? Did you run 1.41 patch again? You have Windows XP compatibility and run as admin set in your PR shortcut right? What is your connection type and speed? Shared? Network game setting? Possibly malware of some sort. I would suggest running 'Adaware' and 'SpyBot Search & destroy', clean out your IE temp folder and remove any uneeded ActiveX objects. |

Vista is up to date. Yes, i'm running on XP SP2 compatibility and admin in my PR shortcut. Connection type and speed ADSL broadband, 2mbps down, dunno about up. By shared do you mean my computer or what? Computer not shared, internet is. What do you mean by network game setting?

Sorry I meant
Settings for network IN Game : cable 256 or better( CHOOSE THIS) Lan or local I don't think you needed to play BF2 at all before you played PR but I could be wrong. Anyway At this point uninstall with Vistas "programs and features. Uninstall: "levels" then "core" any other old PR installs 3,4,ect. What the hell reboot to be on the safe side when finished After the restart: Run the full 1.41 patch again You need to reinstall both parts of pr_0756 Part 1 is "core" Part 2 is "levels" The download page has this order: Client (patch) Client (CORE) Client(LEVELS) Don't mess with the Client(patch) at all your doing a "full install" Quote:
run the "test" with pbsvc should pass all green Also run battlefield cleaner to clean your cache files Should work now if your pb ok and all files installed firewall opened for bf2.exe PnkBstrA.exe PnkBstrB.exe Hope it helps fix your problem let us know if you need more help

I don't use windows firewall as it is, but i'll try what you suggested, thanks guys.
Edit: -snip- Works now, at first I thought it didn't but I installed the patch after core and it works great now. Thanks a lot. |
