Google for pbsetup.exe and the download link should come right up with that search.
pbsvc is (I think) PB service.
You say it stalles at 62, that's the part where it might take a very long
time for the loading to complete (check if the hard drive light is flashing
and press the Numlock key to see if the light comes on and off)
might need to just wait for a few minutes

no i was just listing the history of problems I had with BF2 lol.

I feel your pain,kept getting the "deep freeze" last year,the game would just stop (usually after you kill a sniper and take his kit or one of these
"special" moments that we all like) and the sound goes looping.The only
way to get it back was to reboot.Tried all I could and ended up just building another PC.

Has any one here still getting random CTD,
who has uninstalled pb with pbsvc,
rebooted,
reinstalled pbsetup,
updated pb files with pbsetup
has firewall open
but still getting random CTD,
tried setting a new user in the log in or zipped your old bf2 folder inside your documents folder to back it up, then moved the org. folder to the trash?Just to rule out corrupted configuration files?
( I don't think uninstalling bf2 removes the bf2 folder inside you documents folder does it?)

Anyway just a thought.

no no thats not my problem.. I get CTD'S before I even get in the game. I play pr fine 3 months ago now I want to play again because its fun. I play bf2 fine 1-2 CTD's a week. I get ctd everytime I click " join " on a PR server. I have posted this on another forum. anyway I used to get random CTD while playing but like 3-5 aweek nothing big.

have u downloaded all recent MS OS updates? vista has a few patches to fix performance issues. check the installation guide.

make sure your pc is not overheating due to high temperatures in the summer

check whether you get those ctd in VBF2 too
