Re: Completely random CTDs

I too have been getting random CTDs with no error message. This started about a week ago.

I would be playing and then out of no where CTD and i would just start PR up again and play for hours until the next random CTD. Quite annoying.

Oh and BTW i too have been getting the PB "handshaking failed" message but that just boots me out of the server not CTD. In fact im going to make a new thread about this handshaking crap.

Any chance the two are related?

Same here.

Wanted to play with my buddies yesterday, but after 4 random CTD's in less than 1 hour I had to give up...

Turn 360 degrees and walk away is what you should do tbh.

Random CTD's is a feature in the bf2 engine..If it doesnt happen every time you play, dont bother too much.

You are wrong. Please read posts.

People are getting consistent and predictable CTDs.

Re: Completely random CTDs

Since it doesn't happen in other BF2 mods, and it doesn't appear to be connected to anything in game:

I conclude the problem is PB related. It was only after a manual PB update 3-4 weeks ago that this problem began to occur.

As I said before, when PB is turned off, the CTDs do not occur.

This has been ruled out as overheating, over clocking, hardware failure, RAM failure, game failure (reoccurs over multiple installs), etc.

Edit: Double post!

i play Bf2-Vanilla in PB servers without any CTD at all, the same goes to other BF2-Mods . . .

The only one CTDing is PR with PB . . .
