Can't Start up PR
I hadn't played Pr is a while and apparently I had to change my shortcut to pr.exe, so I tried doing that and it didn't work (I'm using Vista). Instead I just have been starting up bf2 and then switching to Pr from the custom games tab, but yesterday when i tried to play, Pr wasn't on the custom games tab for some reason?
I have pr still in my mods folder, and inside is still the application PR, and when I check the properties it is pr.exe, so i tried creating a new shortcut from that application-pr.exe, and it didn't work. I opened the shortcut's properties and changed it to what the forum posts said: Target: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" start /+modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 start in: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\" but somehow when I use the shortcut, it just starts up vanilla BF2? I tried just opening the application pr.exe inside the pr folder and it said "bf2 does not exist. Please check your working directory......" Can somebody help? |

Re: All of sudden it's messed up?
What's that... "start /" doing there? Get rid of it and it should work fine.

Re: All of sudden it's messed up?
Paste PR.EXE into X/Battlefield 2
Also, use more informative titles next time please. I changed it this time. |

Re: Can't Start up PR
I took out the start/ and I pasted pr.exe into the battlefield 2 folder, and it's still the same

Re: Can't Start up PR
Check PRs desktop short cut "target" window. It should have pr.exe in it
like this in Vista: "C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe"+modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 Like this in XP: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe"+modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 Or to force the game to only use one cpu like this in Vista: "C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" start /AFFINITY 2 +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 Like this in XP: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe"+modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 The reason? To paraphrase [R-MOD]Masaq: "What pr.exe does is basically load up BF2.exe with a set of additional instructions - "Run as usual, but instead of normal shaders uses PRs own". It allows the mod to use additional shaders that BF2 doesn't include as standard - basically, the supression effects." You should know PR.exe is a text file about 876 K Can you run BF2 OK still? reinstall: 1.41.patch core levels Then check your shortcut again. Use search to find many threads on this. Hope this helps |

Re: Can't Start up PR
Perhaps use "mods\pr" instead of the forward "/"?

Re: Can't Start up PR
As DeadFast already posted it, I suggest you go to:
http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-...-start-pr.html Then check if it worked, if not, come back |

Re: Can't Start up PR
Try removing the back slash after Battlefield in the lower window "start in"
start in (in XP )should be: "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2" In Vista: "C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2" copy and paste that in your shortcuts "start in" window and try it again. hope it helps |
