VOIP Issue
I think that VOIP is a very important factor when playing project reality, but lately I have had a problem with it.
I have set up my VOIP correctly, and have test the settings before entering a game, everything checks out perfectly. I then enter a server, join a VOIPENG squad. I hear everyone perfectly, and they can hear me for about 40 seconds. After 40 seconds go by I can't hear my squad talking, and when i press "B" they can't hear me, and the transmit icon doesn't even come up. I go to my options, and none of my VOIP options are set up right, and I am not able to change them in game. This happens every game, and i was wondering if anyone knows the solution to my problem. I have changed the sound settings to hardware and software, but i still get the same problem. I am using windows xp sp2. I have the latest PR update. My mic is NOT usb, and i have everything plunged in properly. |

Re: VOIP Issue
There is a timer made by BF2 to stopVOIp spam. I think you hit the limit.

Re: VOIP Issue
i wouldn't think so, since i didn't use voip at all on regular bf2, and in the past when i played PR i had enough friends on at the same time to make our own squad, and use vent.... maybe i just need to re-install everything.

Re: VOIP Issue
Could this be a ports issue?

Re: VOIP Issue
No, I hardly believe so. One of my problems - as described in my forum post - was exactly as described here by thesinter.

Re: VOIP Issue
Say said before, lets try a few different things, first uninstall everything then reinstall it all, then try. if that doesn't work mess around with you sound opitions in BF2.

Re: VOIP Issue
If you are not using the rear socket for your mic then bf changes it automatically to the default mic input after a set time.
I use the front socket on my pc and had this problem myself. I discovered a program called muvixer. You can get it here. Freeware - Address Bar for XP SP3, Open Last Closed Tab, and More | MuvEnum Software It's at the bottom of the page. /you set muvixer to use the mic input you want to use, then when bf tries to change the input, muvixer gives it the finger and sets it back to the socket you choose. Hardly uses any memory, just set it to run when you start windows. It worked for me, let me know if it works for you. P.s It's free! |
