Punk Buster vs PR???

Ok this may sound weird, but it seems PR is conflicting with Punk Buster. Ill play any PR server and after about 10 min ill get kicked for 'Losing Key Packets'. It only seems to do it when there are more than 20 or so player on the server. If I play normal BF2, I can play any server with as many people as I want and PB has no problems at all, then as soon as I go back to PR, it happens again. Suggestions???

O and another bug I found today, on Al Basrah I was driving the warrior and drove through some of though gates that just crash out of the way, however instead of just driving straight through, the APC was throwen about 60 feet in the air. It was funny as hell except for when we landed and nearly got stuck. It was enjoyable but I thought I better report it..

Re: Punk Buster vs PR???

I think you need to update your punkbuster manually. The error you get usually occurs if you're punkbuster is not fully up-to-date.
With the PB updater (downloadable through PunkBuster Online Countermeasures) make sure your BF2 directory is added and (sometimes helps) also your PR folder -inside- your BF2 folder. So for example:
c:\program files\ea games\battlefield 2
c:\program files\ea games\battlefield 2\mods\pr

If that doesn't help, uninstall punkbuster, reinstall it and add BF2 again through the updater.

About your flying vehicle, that sometimes happens if you drive straight on a fence or wall. It's a BF2 think, sometime we can't really do something about. I don't know, the system reacts that way if you try to go somewhere where you shouldn't go, sort of, hehe.

Thanks for the suggestion, however this problem has been happening for quite some time. I have:
1. tried manually updating pb, placing it in the BF2 pb files and several different ways to try and get it working,
2. Re-installed BF2, Punk Buster and PR serveral times, and today I
3. Completly reformated my computer, reinstalled everything fresh, and problem still persists. Normally I would say its a problem with my own connect or ISP but being as I can play fine on BF2, it leads me to believe that this could be a posible fault with PR. Main reason being that I am not the only one this is happening to. I have spoken with a couple of others who get the exact same problem.

Cheers for the idea. I got kicked from a server for the same thing and gave your idea a go. I lasted on the server a lot longer than the usual 10min but eventually I was kicked again for 'Losing Key Packets'. Guess its back to BF2

hey man, had the same problem as you, but an online player gave me this method to reduce the losing key packets happening, it worked, but didn't stop it completely.

When entering a game open the console and write these 2 commands=

Pb_sleep 500

Pb_writecfg

.. Oh and people saying it is your internet connection - that is a bunch of crap, I just got a new pc, and it has stopped completely, but my internet is technically the same...

What that used to mean for me was that my ISP was capping my banwitdth for exceeding my d/l limit. This might be the same for you.

Iv been playing alot of 2142 lately...YES 2142! Its come to this!
Most of the time, it seems that within 2 minutes into the game, i will be kicked by PB for either MD5 tool problems or losing keypackets.
Some of the time, i can get into a server and play a whole round and then 2 mins into the next round, I will be kicked.

I use PBSVC everytime before I play any BF2 related game and then proceede to update it so this is not the problem.
I usually risk turning my firewall off, but alas no dice.
I have now resorted to 2142 and miss PR dearly. The end is near...

Is there anything else i can do?

...mongol...
