Shaders Message

When u first run PR it gives u that message to change ur shortcuts and what not, i placed PR.exe into the BF2 Folder and ran it and still got the same error.... can anyone help?

Sounds like your PR shortcut is broke.


Check PRs desktop short cut "target" window. It should have pr.exe in it like this:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe"+modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1

Or to force the game to only use one cpu like this:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" start /AFFINITY 2 +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1

The reason?
To paraphrase [R-MOD]Masaq:
"What pr.exe does is basically load up BF2.exe with a set of additional instructions - "Run as usual, but instead of normal shaders uses PRs own". It allows the mod to use additional shaders that BF2 doesn't include as standard - basically, the supression effects."

Use search to find many threads on this.

i fixed my shortcut but it does it still, i have reinstalled PR (and levels) and still does the same thing, i was looking threw all the files and alot of them are zip files.... do i need to unzip them or something?

ok i got it past the message thing now and got it to work, but now when i join a server it crashes -.- if some1 could plz tell me here cause it takes an hour for me to search forums because my internet is slow on this site

Fox make sure you installed the maps its the "levels" installer.
The download page lists the patch first, then "core" followed by "levels"
So you may have not gotten the right download.
Remember you must run both installers(core+levels)to install PR7.5
Check for the new maps.
Go into your PR mod folder(inside programs)and look inside the "levels" folder.
You should see the two new maps(The Battle for Qinling and Fools Road)
If you have the maps and still crash try tossing out your cache files.
Corrupted cache files can cause CTD.
C:\Users\"your name"\Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache

Toss everything inside the cache folder to the trash NOT the cachefolder itself.
When you restart the game a new cache file is created.
