Re: True Widescreen for BF2/PR

Oh dear now I'm worried. Dam DICE for not supporting widescreen properly. Do you reckon I should contact PB about this to clarify?

# Regarding PunkBuster
I have been communicating with EA and EvenBalance over the use of this program. I've gotten responses from both that say this program is allowed on PunkBuster-enabled servers. It's not any kind of official announcement and the use of it is subject to change. In other words, this program is OK to use for now, but understand that you use this at your own risk. If anything changes regarding its usage, I will update here.

Contacting them will not help since they added it deliberately. Chances are it's still detected deliberately, and that you will be banned without a chance to appeal since they have qualified it as a hack.

Well I've not used it for the last few games mainly cause I forgot about it, and I think its hitting my computers performance which isn't great as it is anyway.

The fact that I forgot about it sort says that I don't really need it to enjoy a game. Yeah it is nice to have that extra Horizontal view but meh i think i'd better play it safe!

True

Let's just hope/expect that BF2 gets the same changes like 2142 got in patch 1.5 - anticheatmeasures (PID,Nickspoofing), new login-method, widescreensupport.

2142 supports widescreen now? I think I might have to go get that game now. All the other BF titles don't thou?, cause I've never had any luck with Vietnam or 1942.

Of course it does.

It increases the number of pixels that need to be drawn

Turn 360 degrees and walk away is what you should do tbh.

The pixel number stays the same because the resolution stays the same (1440x900) It just ajusts the field of view and depth of the 3D world, performance hit would not be because there are more pixels but because there is a greater angle of view and therefore more game objects are being rendered.
