Post Problems with Vista 64 bit

Hello guys,

My problem is that i cant play Bf2 or PR Online.
BF2 starts without Problems i can login my account, when i list the servers and i click on a server i can see the ping and how many People on the server, but when i click on a server i can see nothing there are no player names und no other informations about the server. when i try to connect and double click on the server nothing happens.
When i play in single player i works.
I turned off everything i can, the compelte system start, windows defender, antivir, UAC.
Iam sitting behind a FritzBox DSl Router. Priority on my ip is high.
With Xp everything works without problems.

I thought about trying it with Vista 32 bit but then i still can use xp.

Thanks and sry for my bad english

Do you run BF2 in XPSP2-Compatibilitymode and 32-bit-Compatibilitymode?

BF2 does not support native 64bit because there is right-now no 64-bit Punkbusterclientversion.

Wrong. Punkbuster has native 64-bit support:

"Do these new components support 64 bit flavors of Windows?

Yes, beginning with PB Client version 1.700.

For me this looks like a networking (NAT/firewall) issue. Both BF2 and punkbuster use a bunch of different ports for network traffic and some of them, mostly UDP-protocol ports, must be manually added to your router/firewall configuration.

You must also add bf2.exe to Windows's built-in firewall exception list.

In general, BF2 uses these port for exchanging traffic with server:
Code:
UDP 27900
UDP/TCP 29900
TCP 80
TCP 4711
TCP 29901
UDP 1500-4999
UDP/TCP 1024-1124
UDP 28910
UDP 16567
UDP 55123-55125
I'm sorry that I can't give you more detailed instructions, because every router has different way for adding these port configurations.

Re: Problems with Vista 64 bit

ok i made port forwarding for all ports you wrote down. -> same error.

I also removed 2gb of my memory. -> same error.

I updated PB. -> same error.

Its horrible, thats the only thing why i hate Vista i just want to play PR on Vista, damn.

Iam going to chek my memory now with memtest, hopefully it will show me some mistakes, than i know what to do.

Thanks so far.

Couple more questions. What is the ping and the player count of the server you are trying to join? And which filters you have selected on the server browser?

I tryied to make a BIOS update yesterday. ASUS Updater crashed while updating -> bios deleted -> mainboard defective -> FUCK

I dont think that it is a warranty thing, what do you think?

Damn! That's bad news Hopefully your motherboard isn't totally wasted

But hey, you were trying to repair an issue you thought was motherboard/bios related and you used manufacurer's tools, so I don't think that it was your own fault.

BIOS upgrade is standard maintenance procedure, which is described in the manual as an user-level operation and if it fails, it should definitely be covered by warranty. Go for it, hold on your rights.
